RECENT LETTER RECEIVED FROM NORTH CAROLINA TO WHPL

I would love to attend your rally ["Truth Rally" - Nevada State Capitol - March 20, 2010] and I so appreciate your offer but I'm here in NC. Please, do send along the rally update. I didn't get it but I have friends in CA ( and all over) who keep abreast of what's happening with the mustangs through me and forward info on to their friends in rallying states. I keep writing letters and signing petitions and making calls and I will do so until we get the resolution that our precious horses and burros deserve.

Now that I have adopted/rescued two mustangs, I can tell you that with them in my life, this fight to save our mustangs and return them to their rightful freedom has become all that much more personal to me. I'm in total awe of these boys. It's been almost 4 months since their arrival, and every day is such a joy and new learning experience. I know I don't have to explain it to you... Mustangs are magic, just pure 1000% magic!

The more I learn about what the Bureau of Land Management does during the round ups and especially after, when they're "processing" the horses, it breaks my heart to know that my wonderful, magical boys were forced to endure such cruelty. Just thinking about it brings me to tears. I think sometimes, that I must be bugging God a lot these days over how many times a day I thank him for the boy's survival. They are truly miracles in every single sense of the word. All surviving mustangs are. They are survivors of war, deserving of a purple heart, at least in my opinion anyways.

Tonight, in learning the news of the halted round up at the Calico site, and of the canceled Eagle herd round up, I couldn't wait to get to the barn to share that with my boys, especially my one mustang, Shilah, who arrived very closed up and defensive in the company of humans. I suppose it probably sounds silly, but I talk to them all the time about how many people are fighting to save their brothers and sisters, aunts and uncles, cousins, moms, dads, and grandparents and how much we love each and every one of them. In light of all the horrific events surrounding the Calico horses, it felt wonderful to have a little good news to share with them (and friends and family of course).

We are indeed making headway in this gross war. I'm so thankful for you and the rest of the mustang warriors out there Even if I can't attend a rally, know that I'm always along side of all of you in spirit and in heart.
